Philadelphia, PA (October 17, 2017) – In efforts to reduce helmet collision force for its players, several national ranked football programs have begun a relationship with Defend Your Head (DYH), a sports safety company whose mission is to reduce football collision force with its innovative soft shell technology, ProTech. Penn State, NC State, and LSU are among more than 100 NCAA Division I football programs, high schools and youth leagues throughout the country using ProTech. Other collegiate teams using the technology include Appalachian State, University of Alabama – Birmingham, Dartmouth, The College of Holy Cross, and Western Carolina.

Manufactured using a special polyurethane foam, DYH’s half-inch thick, easily attachable ProTech helmet cover is custom-fitted for every player’s helmet and is compatible with most major helmet models.

The first product of its kind, ProTech’s uniquely designed polyurethane technology reduces impact of helmet collision force through absorption and dissipation of forces wherever they occur on the helmet. Led by former Princeton University linebacker Glenn Tilley and former New York Jets offensive lineman John Roman, DYH’s ProTech helmet-conforming design is backed by years of research and extensive independent testing. Research supports the desired goal that the ProTech technology disperses collision forces.

“We’re so proud to have football programs of such high caliber believe in ProTech and invest in the safety of their student athletes,” said Glenn Tilley, CEO, Defend Your Head. “We want football players at all levels to be as safe and successful as possible – not just on the field, but off the field in the classroom and work force as well.”

Designed to be game day ready, ProTech’s seemingly undetectable shape is available in numerous colors and accepts custom decals to accommodate a team’s unique branding. Due to its ability to reduce helmet collision force and its aesthetically pleasing look, a growing number of teams are utilizing ProTech’s safety attributes in practices and games. Compared to competitors, ProTech is designed for season-long use in practice and game day. Its affordability ($149.99) allows players of all ages and skill levels to play safer, longer.
