John Zeglinski inducted into Wake Forest Sports Hall of Fame

Defend Your Head takes pride in our team of professionals, many of whom played football at the highest level. So it is with great pride that we announce that one of our own, John Zeglinski, VP, National Business Development, has been elected to The Wake Forest University Sports Hall of Fame.

“Ziggy” starred for the Demon Deacons from 1974-77 as a tailback, slot receiver and punt returner, ranking among the national leaders in all-purpose yardage in each of his 4 seasons of football. He was twice selected to the All-ACC team.  John was also   a two-sport standout  at Wake, as he started for 4 seasons on the Deacon baseball team, helping lead them to an ACC title in 1977 when they beat the powerful Clemson Tigers.  “John Zeglinski was one of the finest all around athletes we have ever seen at Wake Forest” said Dr Gene Hooks,  former athletic director at  Wake Forest for 36 years, and  who was among the electors.

“The friends I made at Wake Forest have become my family for a lifetime. I cannot properly express the feelings of thanks I have for this great honor. The memory of my years at Wake Forest have never faded and have now become even more special,” said John.

John “Ziggy” Zeglinski  now joins the likes of immortal Wake Forest athletes like Arnold Palmer, Tim Duncan and Brian Piccolo in The Wake Forest University Sport Hall of Fame. Defend Your Head is very proud to salute one of our own on this great lifetime achievement.
